It is easy to be envious — although, really more “appreciative” — of people like Tim Gane. Not only is he one of those guys who switches others on to rare experimental sounds, films, and art every time he is prompted; but also, everything he massages, musically, turns to gold. Known primarily as the straw that stirred the legendary Stereolab, Gane was also in respected jangly politicos McCarthy in the mid-to-late-80s. Now, his Midas touch is focused primarily on Cavern of Anti-Matter, who will release their third record of synthed ‘n’ sequenced jams in March on Gane’s Duophonic label.
Along with ex-Stereolab drummer (and ace photog) Joe Dilworth and modular whiz Holger Zapf, Gane will release Hormone Lemonade on March 23 on double vinyl (including a probably-already-sold-out limited clear vinyl edition), compact disc and digital download, all of which can be pre-ordered here.
The first mighty taste from Hormone Lemonade is called “Make Out Fade Out” and it can also be heard below. Liquid gold!
