Sucks to your ass-mar, YouTubers. New York-based composer and artist extraordinaire Ben Vida is FED UP with your paltry “800% slower” nonsense. So he’s taking shit as far is it can go with his latest album for Félicia Atkinson’s illimitable Shelter-Press label, Reducing The Tempo To Zero.

Composed of a single four-hour work, the album is described as “a temporal nesting doll” that “push[es] the bounds of digital and analogue synthesis.” As would be fitting of such concept, …To Zero is also the fruit of some FOUR YEARS’ worth of studio effort, the recording and editing process “extending across the period between 2015 and 2019, offering momentary conclusion to an arc of ideas and practice which first appeared on 2016’s Damaged Particulates.”

So what are you waiting for? Get a taste (albeit a paaaainfully momentary one) of the mammoth record’s “shifting ghosts of other beings and times” via the embedded excerpt down below. Then head to Shelter Press to pre-order the whole thing in both “digital and limited USB card editions” ahead of its December 6 release date. Time’s a-wastin’. Or at least, I THINK it is?
