Courtney Barnett: she’s a person! By now, you should know that Barnett records and releases music under her own name such as this or this or this. But, did you know that when Courtney Barnett tours, at least TWO other people perform with her, forming a “band” of some sort? What’s the deal there?? How can Courtney Barnett be Courtney Barnett if she performs with other people who are not Courtney Barnett???
Seeking to heal the rupture in our brains caused by that dissonance, Courtney Barnett has announced a run of solo tour dates across these United States. These aren’t any ordinary solo dates though, oh no. These are intimate SOLO dates: just Barnett, a guitar, and a batch of her finest songs embarking on the singer-songwriter’s very first solo tour of the US.
In addition to her intimate solo dates, Barnett will also be appearing at Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky Festival (how many festivals do these guys have?) in Mexico, as well as two opening dates for Brandi Carlisle in Nashville.
Check out all of Courtney Barnett’s upcoming tour dates down below. And if you’re curious as to what a true Courtney Barnett solo performance is like, check out videos of her playing “Sunday Roast” at the Sydney Opera House, and covering Gillian Welch’s “Everything Is Free” backstage at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, also down below.
