David, who pretty much always likes it when his name comes up, no matter the circumstances, is going to be pleased. You see, 1080p (a label David learned about via TMT’s year-end coverage in 2014) has just announced that it’s got a new tape (the last one of 2015!) coming on November 27. Entitled Clouds of David, it’s from Magic Touch’s Damon Eliza Palermo. It’s a shift from the house- and disco-inflected Magic Touch tracks and into something more ambient, marked by “light percussion and large swathes of breathy, deep blue melody.” All of this sounds great, especially to David, who is in the other room right now extolling the virtues of the color blue as he strokes a cardboard cutout he had made of himself last winter.
I know David’s computer has been on the fritz lately, so he may not be able to check out the stream of “River Drum” that I’ve embedded below, but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying it. And, of course, you can always pre-order it for yourself or our friend David by clicking here.
