Deerhoof, they’re always having fun! They already announced that their new record, Deerhoof vs. Evil, is coming out via Polyvinyl on January 25, but that’s a little too dull and ordinary for Deerhoof’s taste. Album announcements aren’t fun — treasure hunts are fun. As such, Deerhoof are slowly leaking the entirety of Deerhoof vs. Evil through an online treasure map on their website that leads to various music sites around the world. Granted, this isn’t a very difficult treasure hunt, considering that all the treasure is clearly marked on a map and easily accessible, but, hey, don’t spoil Deerhoof’s fun. At the moment, four tracks from the record have been unveiled.
Deerhoof are also going on tour early next year. If the whole treasure hunt thing isn’t your idea of fun, seeing Deerhoof live should be. Really, if it’s not, then I don’t really understand your idea of fun.
