Ensemble Economique’s SoundCloud contains the single-line description “melting stars into puddles of light.” That’s an absolutely perfect for Brian Pyle’s music and the sense of being engulfed, almost smothered, that it creates. Played loud enough, it is truly a metabolic experience; something noise fans might appreciate if they ever caught an itch for pop. In terms of convoluted metaphors, imagine a transporter jump on the original Star Trek slowed to a crawl; remaining conscious throughout a process of oozing, glowing dis- and reassembly.

Lucky for everyone in the strange and lovely part of music fandom that appreciates this sort of thing, EE has a new LP coming out on Not Not Fun.
