Don’t you just hate it when you meet someone who says they like house music, only to find out they really like the fake stuff??? Ugh! Well, next time that happens, bust out your house-head validity card by spinning some new tracks from Fantastic Man. The proclaimed “underground house hero” returns to Superconscious Records this December 15 with a new double-dose of Ibiza-ready, 120 bpm bangers.
Already finding himself spun by the notorious Richard D. James, Fantastic Man looks to continue his hot streak with P.M.T.C., a new pair of tunes that will pluck you right out of your trodden winter misery and drop you off in a paradise of the summery Spanish coast. Can’t you just feel that warm summer breeze…
P.M.T.C. promises more of the bright, psychedelic dance nostalgia that made last year’s Rhythm Algorithm EP such a hit. Listening to its buoyant B-side, “Cool Waters” (which you can stream below), it’s easy to see why the Australian DJ’s chops carry such cred in the house world.
While it starts with a familiar yet beachy boom-bap pulse, the track’s halfway point loops in some vocal splices that shove the 7-minute track beyond pleasant into an enrapturing and toasty sonic world. Basically, if you’re looking for something to bring some summer to your winter DJ sets, this is the track for you.
Pre-orders are up now for the two-sided EP, so hop on those potatoes while they’re still hot and ready to party.
