Hey, remember last week, they released a photo of a black hole? Like, the first photo of a black hole ever? Big deal. Looked like it was taken on a flip phone. Kind of a let down if you ask me. The pics that an iPhone X can take, now those are photographs. You’re telling me those telescopes don’t have “portrait mode?”
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “what a freaking debbie downer!” And maybe I am. But listen, I had something else galactic on my mind. Something bigger, definitely something brighter, something a little louder & spastic than this.
I’m talking about BANG! BROS., the freak-jazz aficionados outta Western Massachusetts! Feel like stargazing but tired of that dang black hole image? Look no further: right here, on this very webpage, we’re premiering this new BANG! BROS. album, Big Bang Theory Part One, out via Chicago-based label Hausu Mountain!
Duo Arkm Foam and Mark Johnson wrangled some thrash-happy noises out of some machines, Saxophonist Andy Allen wailed along with due abandon, and the result? TWO cassettes worth of galactic euphoria. It’s intense, mouth-watering, and something you’re gonna relish if you like staring into the abyss or black holes or whatever.
You can immerse yourself in part one below — part two drops digitally on May 3! But you can cop both on cassette April 26. You’ll have enough to last a light year, eh?
