You like festivals, right? Who doesn’t? The dust clouds gently rising in the air, the hum of the food trucks, the guy playing hacky sack like he’s having an acid freakout flashback back to the time he was the cool, “different” guy at his preppy East Coast college. And yes, the bands! Bands play these things, don’t they? That’s what I hear. Well, this year FYF kinda took all the bands, but maybe, just maybe they’ll venture out into the wider festival world, too.
Anyway, FYF recently announced that Frank Ocean and Morrissey would be headlining the festival, which takes place August 22 and 23 at LA Sports Arena & Exposition Park. But that’s not all, folks! You’ve got D’Angelo and the Vanguard, Bloc Party, Belle and Sebastian, that artist you kids like called FKA Twigs, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and more.
You can buy single-day tickets for $109, weekend general admission passes for $175, and weekend VIP passes for $329 via FYF’s website.
The full lineup includes Alvvays, Andrew Jackson Jihad, BADBADNOTGOOD, Battles, Ben UFO, Broncho, Chet Faker, Cold Cave, Death Grips, Deerhunter, Dinosaur Jr., Dixon, DJ Dodger Stadium, DJ Harvey, The Drums, Evian Christ, Flume, Girlpool, Goldroom, Health, Hop Along, Horse Meat Disco, Jon Hopkins, Joy Orbison, Joyce Manor, Junk, Kaytranada, Kevin Morby, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, La Femme, Laura Marling, Lower Dens, Mac DeMarco, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Metz, Mikal Cronin, Neon Indian, Nicolas Jaar, Purity Ring, Run the Jewels, Savages, Shlohmo, Simian Mobile Disco, Solange, Spiritualized, Tennis, Thee Oh Sees, Title Fight, Tobias Jesso Jr., Toro y Moi, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
