As we reported last month, Red Bull Music Academy is coming to NY for a whole bunch of shows starting late April and running through May 22. One of the more exciting events comes from avant-garde composer/messiah Glenn Branca. In addition to a conversation he’ll hold on May 3 (moderated by Alan Licht), Branca will also have three of his symphonies — 8, 10 (The Mysteries), and 12 (Tonal Sexus) — performed at the Masonic Hall on May 16.
RBMA has just announced the performers of these symphonies, and they include Haley Fohr (Circuit des Yeux), Mick Barr, (Ocrilim, Krallice), Hunter Hunt-Hendrix (Liturgy), Ben Greenberg (Hubble), Justin Frye (PC Worship), and many more. My god.
