In 2016, multi-talented musician and producer Roberto Lange released a left-field political pop triumph under his Helado Negro project called Private Energy.
But now that it’s 2017 and our appetites for political pop have collectively skyrocketed, Lange is teaming up with RVNG Intl. for an expanded edition of Private Energy, including (for the first time) a vinyl release of the album — and it’s out May 5.
The special re-release includes new mixes for three songs from the record: “Runaround,” “Young, Latin and Proud,” and “Transmission Listen.” Alongside the long-awaited 2xLP version, the expanded edition of Private Energy will also land on CD and digital formats with new artwork. Pre-orders for all formats are open over at the Helado Negro Bandcamp.
Meanwhile, get in the proper spiritual mood for this sweet reissue action with RVNG’s newly released promotional video, featuring the four “Obras” that appeared on the original Private Energy, down below.
