Howard Ivans (former Gayngs and The Rosebuds) to release debut album next week, premieres video for "Jump In" today

It has been approximately three years and seven years respectively since we last heard from Ivan Howard, via his involvements in long-standing pop duo The Rosebuds and extended soft-rock supergroup Gayngs. Back in 2014, we were a socially-conscious world fixated on combating ALS by pouring ice-cold water over our heads and raising awareness for men’s health issues by growing hair on our upper lips. In 2010 coffee was only $2.65 a cup! Ah, what times to be alive!

Surely Howard knows that changing your name across your career can greatly hurt your marketability, but he obviously gives no more than precisely two shits about that conventional exchange thinking. And, really, his musical solo alias isn’t a far stretch from what he is called in the day-to-day. In 2013, as Howard Ivans, Ivan Howard released the soulful footstomper “Red Face Boy”/“Pillows” single on Spacebomb Records. Now, Ivans —or “Howard,” or whateverya wanna call him — has resurfaced to release his debut full length on September 22.

Co-produced by Spacebomb’s Trey Pollard and Cameron Ralston and featuring (in addition to the considerable talents of Ivans) the Spacebomb house band, Beautiful Tired Bodies will be released by, you guessed it, Spacebomb. And it’s available for pre-order now on CD, DL, and as a limited-edition-of-100, metallic gold vinyl with an exclusive print designed by Spacebomb art director Travis Robertson.

And before you acquaint (and/or reacquaint) yourselves with the already-released Beautiful Tired Bodies tracks “Denise,” “King of Careless,” “Come On,” and “Back to the Life,” clickity-click “play” on our EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE of the video for Ivans’ smoove sophisticated “Jump In” down below. If you thought your clever “YOU SUCK!” sticky note message left on a co-workers cubicle wall was the poop, “Jump In” director Tony Forgey has you beat by a fairly wide margin with his ultra-creative, Post-it-note-eye-extravaganza.

Sincerely,
Nadelle Davids, Mix Tapes Tinys
