Post-rock is so weird. Like, is rock over? Are all rock bands now “post-rock bands?” Are Foo Fighters a post-rock band? …I don’t know if I like post-rock.
Luckily you and I can mull over these and other important metaphysical questions to the sounds of Japanese instrumental rock band MONO (not to be confused with the British band or the kissing disease) later this year when they go on a tour of North America.
The tour is in support of the band’s ninth album, Requiem For Hell, which came out last October (spooky!). I guess it’s taken them five months to swim across the Pacific with their gear…which, you know, is a pretty good pace, all things considered.
Support acts for the tour include Holy Sons, Kikagaku Moyo, “and more,” so you’ll have to buy tickets if you want to satisfy that curiosity. Has clickbait journalism gone too far? We can talk it over at the show.
