Jacques Gaspard Biberkopf’s first Ecologies release was partly inspired by the idea of Anthropocene-like “disruptions” to states of nature and existence, and his second Ecologies release, out November 11 on Kuedo and Joe Shakespeare’s Knives imprint, seems to (unsurprisingly, given the title) follow a similar theme. Check out the vaguely arctic cover as an additional testament. Likewise, the music is reportedly a complex amalgam of field recordings and club-inspired digital manipulation. Obviously this sounds like a fitting approach to a discussion surrounding drastic changes to the natural world.
TMT’s own DeForrest Brown Jr. expounded presumably on this topic in an essay accompanying the LP. Pre-order the release here, and listen to the track “From Infinity To Here” below.
