I almost just said, totally earnestly, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” And if you think I almost said that because of the holidays, then you’re dead wrong, buster. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, because everyone’s posting their year-end essays and lists and jokes, and we all get to be smug about all of it on Twitter if we want because we are blessed.
Now, if you’re wondering how I know all of this is happening, it’s not because I have an RSS feed set up or anything. Nope, it’s because this is also the time of year when press releases about artists going on tour start to brag about how many year-end lists and features said artist was highlighted in. And a lot of people really do think she’s great. Of course, for SEO purposes, I’m only going to link to TMT content about her, but trust me.
So: Have You in My Wilderness, her album from this year, is lovely, and spoiler alert, it’s very possible that it will be on TMT’s favorite album list this year. In that way, it will be just like her similarly excellent 2013 album Loud City Song which was on our 2013 list. We’re suckers for Julia, what can I say?
