Although her debut album on File Under: Music, Are You My Mother?, was released last summer, Kathryn Calder (of The New Pornographers and formally of Immaculate Machine) is still wondering who the hell her mother is. In most cases like this, adopted children will ask their parents to give them information about their biological parents’ whereabouts. Or they’ll go through birth certificates and other medical records to determine the information themselves. Calder decided to find the answer to her pressing question in another way: go on tour.
This spring, Calder will roam the streets and venues of major US cities to put an end to her pursuit for her mother. You would think naming her album after her query would have put Calder’s mind at rest, but apparently not. Join Calder in her quest to find her mother this summer:
