Well, it looks like Liverpudlians have two huge — nay, massive…nay, GARGANTUAN) — reasons to be filled with an unparalleled level of joy and exultation in the coming months.
For one thing, their hometown soccer team (sorry: FOOTBALL team) Liverpool F.C. will be battling it out for the continental European Champions cup at the end of the month against legendary Spanish club Real Madrid F.C.
And for another (arguably FAR more important) thing, their very own psychedelic rockers The Vryll Society will be releasing their debut album, Course Of The Satellite, August 10 on Deltasonic Records.
The LP has been tagged as having “early Tame Impala vibes,” and according to the Super Cat prophetry team, it is a “majestic leap into space rock, trip hop and psychedelia that spins off into a myriad of different directions of glowing melodies [and] intimate moods.”
Sounds facking rad, yea? (insert wicked Scouse accent here).
In celebration of the album announcement, the band has also shared a unique, Andre Tarkovsky-esque music video for the hit Mersey single “Andrei Rublev,” which you can check out below (but ONLY if you promise to gaze at your shoes the whole time after you click the “play” button).
Oh, and also; if you’re into the U.K. psych-rock scene you might want to try and plan ahead to catch The Vryll Society at one of their debut live performances, as they’ve announced a string of tour dates throughout the month of October (in addition to playing Brighton’s Great Escape Festival May 18-19 and the Liverpool International Music Festival on July 21).
