Okay, you can take off those sunglasses now — summer is over, and Faith Coloccia’s long-running project Mamiffer has a new release to usher in the contemplative, grey skied fall days.
The Brilliant Tabernacle is built upon Coloccia’s “foundation of
piano, organ, and voice,” and supplemented by an array of collaborators, including her partner Aaron Turner, Jon Mueller, Brian Cook, Eyvind Kang, Veronica Dye, Alex Barnett, Monika Khot, and Janne Westerlund.
In regards to the creative process behind The Brilliant Tabernacle, Faith says, “I felt this record was a complete psychic and magical observation of the healing power of true love, of respecting vulnerability, of not wanting to forget where we all come from- how we were all once helpless and all deserving of love.”
The Brilliant Tabernacle is out November 1 via Coloccia’s and Turner’s SIGE Records, and pre-orders are up for the vinyl and digital editions. Scroll down to hear the first taste of the album, “River of Light,” and scroll a little further to see a trio of Pacific Northwest tour dates this November.
