Melt-Banana ready the tour bus for presidential election campaign I mean FALL TOUR

EeeeeXeeeeZeeeXXeeeeeyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s the sound of Melt-Banana transcribed into a modern English dialect known as Bloggish. It translates roughly to “Frog Swims the River Down Giggling” + SHEER EXCITEMENT OMG MELT-BANANA!!!! + whiskey + “oh my gawd they’re touring for basically two straight months and I have to format ALL those tourdates”? Which is pretty much what their raging hot punk rock noise jams sound like, too: moody, raw, weirdly charming, and totally, totally insane. Which sounds like the perfect soundtrack to America these days, no? MELT-BANANA FOR PRESIDENT 2012!

So what issues do these upstanding Japanese rockers stand for? Which new release are they touring in support of? Well, the core Tokyo-based trio of Yasuko Onuki, Ichirou Agata, and Rika Hamamoto haven’t released a proper studio album since 2007’s Bambi’s Dilemma, and their most recent release was MELT-BANANA Lite LIVE:ver.0.0 — a live album in case you can’t tell — which came out two years ago. But, as you can guess if you’ve ever seen the group’s frenetic live show, this is a band that has a little trouble standing still, so they’re back in the saddle again, ready to set off once more on their annual North American tour. Welcome back, Melt-Banana! And seriously, consider this election thing would ya? Imagine the sheer joy of a Michele Bachmann vs. Melt-Banana live debate. EeeeeXeeeeZeeeXXeeeeeyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
