Members of Can are playing a reunion show at Barbican Hall in London in April. Renamed The Can Project, the group features founding members keyboardist Irmin Schmidt and drummer Jaki Liebezeit, original singer Malcolm Mooney, and special appearances by Thurston Moore and Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth.
The first part of the concert will consist of orchestral pieces conducted by Schmidt and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. The first piece, “An Homage to Can,” was co-written by Gregor Schwellenbach and will feature lyrics from famous Can songs. Afterward, the whole supergroup will perform with surprise guests.
The show is April 8 at Barbican Hall, London. Tickets can be purchased here.
