You might want to light a candle, take a bath, and fire up your dating app of choice, readers; because rhythm and/or blues auteur Miguel is back in the groove with the announcement of his fourth studio album, War & Leisure (these sure are troubling times, aren’t they?!). The new LP is out through ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records on December 1 — a.k.a. the most indisputably sensual day of the year.
War & Leisure, which is reportedly just straight up sex on wax, is also being pitched as “a meditation on the duality of our times that Miguel has described as his ‘most upbeat’ album.” (I don’t know about you guys, but I’m already carving out a pretty high spot for it on my list of “most socially conscious Trump-era albums.”) It will also feature the previously released song “Sky Walker” featuring Travis Scott (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, in theaters December 15), which is, much like my Bonne Maman Wild Blueberry Preserves, a true jam.
Always the generous lover, Miguel has been good enough to share November’s new song of the summer, “Told You So,” in video form, which you can watch below as we await more details on the album. But hey, while we don’t have a full tracklist yet, you can still peep the appropriately stylish album cover, listen to “Sky Walker” below, and pre-order the album on your platform of choice. (Oh god, there’s so much to do! I hope there’s still time for foreplay!)
