Ever go to a lame party? I’m sure you have. Ever go to a lame party where someone was pumping the Morrissey? Heck no, you haven’t, because such a thing has never existed, such a thing will never exist. Step 1 to having a good party is playing some Morrissey, and step 2 is shut up, there is no step 2. As a gift to the party people of the world, Morrissey, the ultimate good-time-haver, is reissuing his classic rager Vauxhall and I on June 3 through Parlophone.
In fact, Vauxhall and I is turning 20 years old this year, just one year before the mystique and danger of getting irresponsibly drunk fades away. The birthday boy/girl/genderless record is being honored with a new remaster by Bill Inglot, as well as a second disc containing an unreleased recording of a 1995 show at The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Though, it should be noted that the live disc will only be available on the CD version, leaving the vinyl and digital versions without such a treat. Thankfully, all versions are said to contain unseen photos from the period of Vauxhall and I’s release. Look! Morrissey’s reading a book in this one! What a party monster.
