The artist known as N-Prolenta has announced his debut EP proper, A Love Story 4 @deezius, neo, chuk, e, milkleaves, angel, ISIS, + every1else…. and most of all MY DAMN SELF, coming way of NYC label Purple Tape Pedigree. THUMP has an exclusive stream of the first single, “Query As Prayer,” and some extensive words from the artist on the thoughts going into the music. Apparently A Love Story 4 is but a component of a larger, interdisciplinary project called Black Hydra’s Discharge Springs Forth Errantly From Her Many Mouths, which is best summarized here on the project’s Instagram page. Chino Amobi, Nkisi, and ANGEL-HO’s label-cum-sovereignty NON is affiliated. In addition to the digital version, there will be a limited vinyl release with “interactive cover art intertwined with augmented reality app.” Said app will take advantage of QR codes, facial tracking, NFC tags, and other mobile tracking technologies “in ways that allow me to question more deeply my role as an economic cyborg.”
Just a few weeks ago, N-Prolenta announced a forthcoming mini-EP on Rabit’s Halcyon Veil label called Driks Ultra Three. It is “a set of three sound sculptures which recount a night of astral travel I made as an 8 year old back in the year 2003 in which I rode a vehicle called the ultra driks towards a parallel sect of our dimension located outside the gates of next world,” according to the artist. The artist also released a short-form mix on the label a few months back in collaboration with French producer and musicologist Dviance.
