On Friday, OG Maco announced the death of OG Maco. Today, he returns as Maco Mattox. The Atlanta rapper, who has been on a fucking tear this year, has released a new seven-track EP under an apparently new moniker. The release is titled 10 Moons 2, and it features three songs produced by Maco himself.
The EP — which comes ahead of his forthcoming highly-anticipated, already-long-completed debut, Children of the Rage — was recorded in just the last two days, seemingly inspired by the slow-going process dealing with his label, Capitol Music Group/Motown Records, the same slow-going process that often plagues (and sometimes impairs) major label debuts. As a fan, the surprise EP is definitely a welcome release, not only because OG Maco had earlier this year said he wouldn’t be doing any more “free music,” but also because timing and independence has done so well for him up until this point.
They won't let me drop the album….
So we made another album over the last two days.
