If you like Oneohtrix Point Never (let’s be honest: if you are reading this, you likely love Oneohtrix Point Never), then you will be pleased to hear that he has written the score to a new crime thriller film starring Robert Pattinson, who is famous for being in the Twilight films. This new one is not a Twilight film, though. It is called Good Time, and it will come out this summer via TMT favorite A24.
The film looks gritty and intense, like how the music of OPN sounds. The music in the trailer feels very Rifts-y. As Good Time directors Ben and Joshua Safdie put it, the music sounds like OPN “took everything he learned on R Plus Seven, Replica, Garden Of Delete and did a sequel to Rifts.”
OPN collaborated with Iggy Pop on one of the songs, an excerpt of which can be heard in the trailer posted below. Iggy told Rolling Stone that he enjoyed the experience of working with OPN, but that “It was challenging musically.”
Oneohtrix Point Never’s most recently released soundtrack work was with James Ferraro for Jon Rafman’s Dream Journal video project. More information on that one can be found here.
No firm dates have been set for the release of Good Time or its soundtrack, but there is a 100% chance that if you check TMT multiple times a day, indefinitely, you will find out that information sooner or later.
