From the country that brought you those weird O’s with the slash through them that ham radio operators put on their license plates comes yet another amazing innovation: Oslo’s Øya Festival. The festival was named Oslo’s greenest business by the environmentally conscious people of Grønn Hverdag (Green Living) last December, which is pretty cool. Plus there’s also a spectacular lineup featuring M.I.A., Big Boi, Pavement, Iggy Pop, Panda Bear, and so much more. Sounds pretty kickin’, right? Like nothing could possibly make it even better? Well, how about if I told you it’s in A MEDIEVAL PARK?
Okay, so maybe I’m not sure what this entails exactly, but it certainly does sound enchanting. I’m guessing this is more of a “sense of history,” “scattered ruins” park than, say, an overpriced dinner where everyone eats giant turkey legs and a theater student who’s not in school for the summer wears armor and jousts for your pleasure. The park’s name is Middelalderparkern. Ahhhh Middelalderparkern. It just rolls off the tongue.
