Can you believe it, folks? Why, it seems like only yesterday when we all hung out at Sasquatch! 2013 and accidentally got super high off all those fumes of flaming garbage barrels full of Devendra Banhart merchandise. Remember? Yeah, I kinda do too, strangely!
But either way, I guess the world keeps on turning or something, because here we are again at the precipice of Sasquatch! Music Festival 2014! This year’s fest will once again take place in George, Washington at ye olde Gorge Amphitheatre. Only this time: it’s PERSONAL.
Not really, but this year, the fest is expanding into two weekends worth of insanity — May 23-25 and July 4-6 — so, I guess maybe if any of those dates are significant to you it could be personal? Look, I don’t care. The point is that the lineups-of-insanity for those two weekends got announced today. And they are both, uh, insane.
May 23-25 will feature the likes of Outkast, Queens of the Stone Age, M.I.A., The National, HAIM, Deafheaven, tUnE-yArDs, Chance the Rapper, Neko Case, Panda Bear, Tyler, the Creator, Parquet Courts, Phosphorescent, Bob Mould, Waxahatchee, Major Lazer, Cut Copy, AlunaGeorge, Ryan Hemsworth, Liars, Foals, Kid Cudi, Mogwai, Classixx, Washed Out, Gesaffelstein, Phantogram, Die Antwoord, Big Freedia, Austra, Damien Jurado, Violent Femmes, Banks, The Dodos, La Luz, Tacocat, and more.
Awesome right? Yeah, but here’s the problem. July 4-6 is gonna be amazing too: Neutral Milk Hotel, Frank Ocean, Kraftwerk, Soundgarden, Spoon, New Order, Röyksopp & Robyn, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Broken Bells, Rhye, Action Bronson, Local Natives, Cloud Nothings, Sharon Van Etten, Mac DeMarco, Jon Hopkins, Foxygen, Oneohtrix Point Never, Mikal Cronin, Tegan and Sara, Cass McCombs, Junip, Courtney Barnett, Metz, The Notwist, Gold Panda, Audion, Deltron 3030, of Montreal, Death, La Roux, The Horrors, Chad VanGaalen, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, The Black Angels, Lee Fields & the Expressions, Chastity Belt, Latyrx, Black Milk, Reigning Sound, Atmosphere, Palma Violets, etc!
Holy shit! How can you even decide? Good luck, man. Seems tough. Oh, Me? I guess I’m probably just gonna go to both for free because I “work” for a “music blog.” Don’t you just hate me right now?
