Back in March, when the northern hemisphere was dark, frigid, and tilted antagonistically away from the sun, a tiny dayglo ray of hope appeared on the horizon, as Kai “Palmbomen II” Hugo introduced the first installment of his four-EP series Memories of Cindy via Beats in Space. And lo: in that single, very auspicious moment, a warmer future was promised. And the world was soothed. And it was GOOD.
Now, three months later, summer is spiritually (if not yet meteorologically) in FULL-the-fuck-EFFECT, and the L.A.-based electronic producer has returned (just as the legend foretold!) to unleash the second of four Palmbomen 12-inches “dedicated to the late dear Cindy.” Memories of Cindy Pt. 2 — in which “Kai leads the way through the strange world of Palmbomen II (via Carmel Vista), revisiting Samantha on the set of Real Talk and getting deeper into the demented commercials that color the in between scenes” — is available right this very minute for all your compulsive, “what the hell, it’s friday!” vinyl-purchasing pleasure.
