Starting March 3 in Chicago, The Pogues will be traveling the US, coming to YOUR town to have a couple of drinks at your local bar and then play a show. When pressed for comment initially, the band simply said, “Come drink with us before we play a show.” When I continued pressing for elaboration, the band finally opened up:
“We’ll be playing a handful of dates across the US as a formal farewell to touring put together for our American audience. It is a sequel of sorts to our farewell shows across the UK. We’ve been playing Christmas shows every year for the last eight years and while it’s been a great tradition, we’ve decided to put a halt on any future touring activity besides the announced dates. Who knows what the future holds but for now it doesn’t include The Pogues being on tour. Thanks, and cheers!”
The farewell to Christmas touring shows across the UK that the band mentioned were announced months ago but let me be ever so kind and include them in the tourdates below. You’re welcome!
