Powell, the British producer that Resident Advisor’s Andrew Ryce miraculously found a way to positively describe as trash, is going on a North American tour this summer in celebration of his label Diagonal Records’s five-year anniversary. Co-run by Powell, a.k.a. Oscar Powell, and his childhood friend Jaime (who will also be on the tour), Diagonal Records has been releasing incredible music ranging from techno to post-punk since 2011.
The summer tour, starting out in Alberta, Calgary on August 9, will feature a live set by Powell in addition to a special performance at MoMA PS1’s Warm Up series on August 20. Accompanying him on the summer tour will be label-mates Not Waving and Russell Haswell as they make their US debut.
