It’s been seven years since Project Blowed fan-favorite 2Mex has released a solo album. During that time, he’s found a great gig as a host on L.A.’s KDAY radio station and sadly lost his leg and nearly his life while battling diabetes. The rapper predicted in May 2016, following the amputation, “I’m gonna come back from this.” Just over a year later, he’s making good on that promise.
On August 15, 2017, Water the Plants will release Lospital, 2Mex’s sixth solo studio full-length. Created during the artist’s recovery, the album touches on some bleak topics, like suicide and Donald Trump, but according to the press release, it’s ultimately “about determining what’s important, and trying with all your might to hold onto it.” Featured artists include Atmosphere’s Slug, Living Legend Eligh, and Ceschi.
