If you didn’t own them already, which you should, Rhino Records has announced that, on July 19, it will be reissuing the first four albums by punk’s original boy band: The Ramones.
All four records (1976’s Ramones, 1977’s Leave Home and Rocket to Russia, and 1978’s Road to Ruin) will be reissued on 180-gram vinyl pressed from the original analog masters and will feature not only all of the original artwork, but also actual glue that you can sniff at home in your basement, just like The Ramones!
To sweeten this already sweet deal, Rhino has announced that its reissue of Leave Home will feature the track “Carbona Not Glue,” which was only available on the first pressing and replaced with “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker” on later versions. This means that this copy of the record will be better than the copy you already own! Yay! Buy it again!
To super sweeten this already sweetened deal, Rhino will also be selling (more expensive) versions of all four albums (available only on their website) that come with a bonus 7-inch featuring a single from the album with its corresponding B-side. Those singles are as follows: “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” b/w “California Sun/I Don’t Wanna Walk Around With You” on Ramones; “Swallow My Pride” b/w “Pinhead” and a live recording of “Let’s Dance” for Leave Home; “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker” b/w “I Don’t Care” with Rocket To Russia; and “She’s The One” b/w “I Wanna Be Sedated” from Road To Ruin.
