Former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr — who has publicly struggled with drug addiction and appeared on VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab” in 2009 — has died. He was 44.
“It’s a terrible shock and tragedy,” his father tells TMZ.
Starr was arrested and jailed for alleged drug possession in Salt Lake City, Utah, last month. Police pulled him over and found he was in possession of six Xanax pills and six painkillers called Opana.
