The Manchester-born, Australia-based composer and pianist Roger Smalley has died in Sydney the age of 72.
Smalley studied piano with Antony Hopkins and composition with Peter Racine Fricker and John White at the Royal College of Music, continuing his studies privately with Alexander Goehr. In 1965, on an Octavia Travelling Scholarship, he studied composition with Stockhausen in Cologne. […]
