NEW (sorta) NEWS from NEW Zealand:

New Zealand artist Roy Montgomery’s debut solo album, 1995’s stark Scenes From the South Island, is set to be reissued on vinyl via Liz Harris’ Yellow Electric label.

Per Harris’s notes, the album was “recorded on both coasts on a pair of Tascam 4-tracks” and is “alternately wistful, windswept, skeletal, shredded, and strange. Solo guitar figures flow and fray through echo and empty space, evoking loss, long roads, and low-lit landscapes.” Sounds about right for Harris’ purview, yes?

The album was originally released by experimental west coast label Drunken Fish Records, and the makeover will include additional tracks not included in prior releases.
