Bristol-by-London label Crazylegs have been doing the Lord’s work for years, bridging divisions between club tribes by promoting their Utopian vision for a dance world where all genres can blend and get play. This holistic approach has led them to release some unclassifiable, amazing, and immortal music, a trend they aim to continue with Sega Bodega’s imminent Ess B EP.
A former Activia Benz comrade and prolific interpreter of soundtrack music, Sega Bodega pulls influences from across the board: elements of techno, garage, ambient, and first-wave dubstep all get thrown up in the air to make something progressive and unpredictable in Ess B, a bold, strange and complex release that seems to represent an exciting next step for the Crazylegs fam.
On the heels of “CC,” Sega Bodega’s narcotic and awesome collab with Shygirl, we are thrilled to premiere “3310,” a gorgeous, subtle, constantly-evolving track that is both an indisputable highlight and microcosm of the whole record (those harmonies in the last third — you’re killin’ me, Bodega). The year is still young, but I’ve got a feeling that this track might stick around for a bit. Stream it down below and check out the complete tracklisting for Ess B, which you can pre-order ahead of its February 24 release date on Crazylegs.
