Steve Albini, the world’s most famous curmudgeon (if you don’t count Oscar the Grouch), has announced that he will be taking a break from “sitting around being better than everyone” so that his band, Shellac, can head out on a tour in support of their show at All Tomorrow’s Parties: I’ll Be Your Mirror in Asbury Park, NJ.
Albini, who has produced more famous albums then you would ever want to shake a stick at, actually went on the same tour last year for the same reasons (support for an ATP appearence) and with the same opening act (Helen Money) but we at TMT are willing to forgive him because Songs About Fucking and 1000 Hurts are just so good.
