Spiritualized announce some classy UK shows, so I hope that's where you live

For a guy who seems to have devoted his entire life to researching interesting/deadly combinations of drugs, sex, and outer space gospel music, you’d think that Jason Pierce would be a little… I don’t know, “spacier?” I’ve got friends with way less on their plates than this dude, and they can’t even show up for band practice half the time because they locked themselves out of their apartments when they stepped out for a smoke.

And yet, here the man is, in all of his post-emergency room glory, scheduled to release the seventh (!) Spiritualized album this fall on new Domino Records sister label Double Six. Sure, he may take his time between these releases (it’s been three years since the release of Songs in A & E, and there was a healthy gap of five years between that one and its predecessor), but you gotta hand it to a man who willingly goes by the name “J Spaceman” for comin’ through, you know, eventually.

And speaking of coming through, if you happen to live in merry old England, jolly old Scotland, or even-tempered old Ireland, you might be lucky enough to catch Spiritualized when they come through your neck of the woods this October on the heels of the new album’s release. Tickets are on sale tomorrow morning (Friday, April 1) and will probably go pretty darn quick. So try not to oversleep or lock yourself out of your house or OD on something crazy. This shit is serious.
