Spiritualized plan new album for the fall, sign to Fat Possum; Nathan Williams excited to have a new dealer

Remember that time when Spiritualized were a really really stellar band releasing album after stunning album? Oh wait, shit, that’s now. What’s even more impressive is that, despite J. Spaceman’s many many years of heavy drug use, he’s still able to operate that musical noggin of his, or really even walk for that matter. Even after 2007’s pretty decent Songs in A&E (TMT Review) and the pressures and expectations involved with releasing a Spiritualized album, Jason Pierce and the crew are prepping their 7th album for release this fall and, to coincide with that, are signing to the Oxford, Mississippi powerhouse Fat Possum for N. American releases. Oh hell nah there isn’t an album title yet, you impatient heathen!

For you people silly enough to be born in/live in Great Britain, Spiritualized are playing a show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 11 of this fine year, I assume to coincide with the album that will be comin’ out about that time. Tickets for that baby go on sale March 11 at 9 AM sharp. Also coming soon to Royal Albert Hall is
this, which seems too good for words.
