UK producer Swindle, who shattered many minds into tiny pieces with last year’s Peace Love & Music, is continuing his musical wanderlust in 2016. This time, instead of jamming global influences into one album, he’s streamed three locales into three funk-oriented EPs he describes as “A Trilogy of Funk.”
The first EP is Connecta, which was written and recorded in São Paulo, Brazil and distills his party tunes through a prism of Brazilian funk. The EP came out via Butterz last Friday (just in time to ride the crest of Olympic-driven Brazil-o-philia). You can sample the lead single “Copacabana” below.
The next two installments of the Trilogy of Funk will cover UK grime and L.A. P-Funk. Swindle is also touring America in September — confirmed dates are listed below.
