You guys know that hip old British noise-pop band The Jesus and Mary Chain? (I know, I know, they haven’t really done, like, stuff-stuff in a while, but they do sometimes; and, well, you didn’t hear this from me… but, ya know, they’re kinda seminal, so you’re OBLIGATED to stay up on them). In case you’re super uncool or a zombie posing as a human police officer or a cyberman or something nerdy like that, I’VE GOT YOU COVERED. Here’s what you need to know about them and their now-30-year-old debut album Psychocandy.
The Jesus and Mary Chain’s debut is a decadent alt-rock masterpiece of bubblegum pop — with “Just Like Honey,” “My Little Underground” and “Never Understand” — drowned in feedback.

BAM. Rolling. Stone. Magazine, guys. I mean, ‘NOUGH SAID. Right? Right. Anyway, yeah, Psychocandy is turning 30 this year. Therefore, in accordance with the law-of-round-numbers, the band is, and I quote: “now pleased to announce its first full US run of Psychocandy US tour dates, hitting new cities in May 2015.” Whoa! I bet you didn’t see that coming, right? Surprise!
But wait, there’s more. And I quote: “This will be the continuation of a year of activity not only celebrating the 30th anniversary of Psychocandy but also looking firmly ahead to the future.” You hear that shit? FIRMLY. AHEAD! FUTURE!!! ‘NOUGH SAID.
Oh wait. Tickets go on sale this Friday (January 30). ‘NOUGH SAID.
