Trail of Dead announce new album and share new song about the trail of dead in Syria

…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead are fed up with the apathy to Real World Events (non-Olympic) that they feel “has plagued the independent music scene for over a decade” (starting exactly a month after Fugazi released The Argument). They are fed up and, unsurprisingly, they are so angry they could easily leave a trail of dead in their grumpy wake. But that would hinder the point that …AYWKUBTTOD are trying to make: the independent music scene needs to start giving a shit about Real World Issues like the Syrian civil war and its accompanying massacres. Like, right NOW, right now. So they’ve released “Up To Infinity” (via Pitchfork) which is about the Syrian civil war, and they hope it helps YOU to start giving a shit, to start mobilizing on issues, and to do somthing about Real World Problems. They’ve already made a song about it, but what are YOU going to do now?

“Up To Infinity” will also see release on …AYWKUBTTOD’s forthcoming eighth studio album Lost Songs, put out by Richter Scale/Superball Music and available October 23. Getting even more serious about Real World Issues, frontman Conrad Keeley said the album was inspired by the band’s shared belief that “tyranny and despotism suffered by any people, anywhere, is intolerable and should not be treated as an internal matter, but completely justifies intervention by the international community.” For real, though.
