Mmmmmm. Hankering for some trax? Just hold on — you’re about a week away from eating good. Veteran footwork producer Traxman and London imprint Moveltraxx have three trax in the chamber, slated for release on October 25.
The Keep Dancing EP follows the Teklife affiliate’s Tekvision Vol. 2 bundle, which revisited Traxman’s roots in the ghetto house scene of the early 90s, turning Steve Poindexter’s seminal “Work Dat Mutha Fucka” into a wonky footwork flip.
Maybe we’ve said too much, though.
“The man actually needs no introduction,” says Moveltraxx. “If you know, you know.”
“Balls In Yo Mouf,” featuring fellow Chicagoan DJ Deeon, is an early peek at his upcoming drop, somehow managing to arrange two looped keyboard notes and a few clattering hi-hat fills into one of the more propulsive footwork cuts to release this year. The track’s sampled refrain (yes, the one transcribed in its title), will give you as much mileage as your taste for puerile jabs allows. If you’ve re-downloaded Fortnite just to see what chapter 2’s all about, consider giving Traxman’s latest release a spin as you stand over the corpses of your fallen opponents. The vibe feels right.
