in these fields I shout the quietest
may stable arms strangle my thoughts
vulnerable to brave truths
a window swathed by mirrors remiss
eyes continue to smile at forgiveness
it’s ok…it’s ok… it’s ok…
indulge more, feel restrictions

If it’s ever possible to be “excited” for an anxiety attack, that time is now. As if a mere two years were enough to recover from his intrusive and excellent last album, Louis Carnell is back as Visionist with a new label and TWO new singles — double the paranoia, double the fun! (Just when you thought you were safe.)
Oh god, oh god, the new record will be out on Big Dada on October 20. If Safe perverted our social conceptions of safety for its affective immersion, just think of what Value is going to do! And get this: like its stylistic sibling Arca, Value will be the first Visionist album to include Carnell’s own voice. I imagine it might be screaming…
Wait, hang on a sec…
…okay, I’m back; sorry, just had to pop an “as needed” before streaming the new songs, “No Idols” and “Your Approval,” both of which you can engage with for yourself down below. “No Idols” is a brutal track with a few signature notes of melancholy flesh marbled through the gristle. “Your Approval,” meanwhile, is spacious, highlighting the devastating lyrical composition contributed by singer Rolynne.
Pre-order the album here. You can also check out the album’s artwork, which — in A Little Life style — depicts exactl what you’re going to look like once you listen to the new songs. (Who knows? Maybe it’ll even make its way onto our year-end favorite covers list this year, just like the last time.)
Value tracklisting:
01. Self-
02. New Obsession
03. Homme
04. Value
05. Your Approval (featuring Rolynne)
06. No Idols
07. Made In Hope
08. High Life
09. Exi(s)t
10. Invanity
