Anyone else getting a little Jonestown, follow-me-through-the-shit-so-we-can-die-together-smiling kinda vibe from these new Weezer album details? I mean, they already have this obsessive cult following that buys whatever random crap Pat Wilson dreams up every night. Now, after a few mysterious (#apocalyptic) YouTube clips, we find out that the new Weezer album is called Everything Will Be Alright in the End. Just sayin’, don’t sip that juicebox.
Regardless of the new Weezer album’s mortality rate, it IS coming out at some point via Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group. Everything follows up 2010’s Hurley. Ric Ocasek, of Pixar Animation Studio’s The Cars, is on production duty, a position he previous held for both the Blue and Green self-titled albums. That’s all we (and Pitchfork) know at this point.
