Citing mental health concerns on the part of inimitable frontman Jamie Stewart, Xiu Xiu have announced the cancellation of an international tour that was scheduled to begin September 23 in St. Louis. Both Xiu Xiu and Polyvinyl Records made the announcement through social media, and the band in general is on a “temporary hiatus” until further notice. Xiu Xiu were previously on tour this past spring, and back in February, they released Girl with Basket of Fruit, one of TMT’s favorites of the quarter.
XIU XIU is on temporary hiatus due to mental health issues. Regretfully fall tours have been cancelled. The band shall return, down but not out.
