X.Y.R.'s debut release Robinson Crusoe to be reissued on vinyl by Italian label Mixed Up

Russian Federation ambient journeyman X.Y.R.’s debut album, Robinson Crusoe (Lost Soundtrack), was initially out on a limited run of 30 cassettes back in 2012 through his own label Singapore Sling Tapes.

After several years and releases on labels such as Not Not Fun, Constellation Tatsu, and Quiet Time Tapes, we’ve come full circle as Italian imprint Mixed Up is reissuing Robinson Crusoe on vinyl. “Using nothing more than a vintage analog Formanta-Mini synth and a couple of pedals and loop stations,” as the label writes, X.Y.R. (real name Vladimir Karpov) uses themes from the classic adventure novel as a base for his humid, tropical keyboard excursions.

Stream “Rescue of Prisoners from Cannibals” below ahead of the album’s August 26 release (pre-order information here) and for more information on all things X.Y.R., check out this still relevant interview he gave for TMT.
