“I’ll make you fine again,” she reminds. Is fineness what we want?
Lovesick, we said once, all our musculature and skeleton whacked out imbalanced, dripping like this fluttering organ, this spinning coo. “I’ll make you,” and a blip, a spin, and back “I’ll make you fine again, again.” Devotion was pressreleasedly pitched as “straight-up love songs,” but devotion is the holy wholly. Things repeat — the feeling falling can’t be straight-up. It’s all at once interdirectional. It’s arrhythmic, full of blood and air popping, lovesick. And then,

Everyone needs a plan. Take me, for example. Right now, my plan is to tell you about the new collaborative album from twin geniuses Matthew Revert and Vanessa Rossetto, logically titled Everyone Needs a Plan. First, I’m going to tell you that it’s out August 24, then I’m going to tell you it’s available through Erstwhile Records. Following that, I’ll delve into some somewhat less pertinent details.

At the risk of wearing out the pages in my thesaurus for the words “monumental,” “legendary,” and “historic,” allow me to bring you the very good news that Kode9 and Burial have joined virtuosic forces for what will be the 100th (and final!) installment in the Fabric Records mix series, Fabriclive 100. Quick, someone get me a towel, I’m practically drenched in enigma!
Young Thug turns 28 years old today. And you know what that means, right? Yep, it means that he is OLD. AS. SHIT. Seriously, that’s so fucking old! My god!! But hey, with age comes maturity, so rather than asking for a present, Atlanta’s Thuggiest has decided to give a present this year, and it just so happens to be the greatest present of all: a new project titled Slime Language, jam-packed with features from the likes of Gunna, Jacquees, Lil Uzi Vert, Tracy T, Duke, and many more. Unfortunately, it’s not the “studio debut” that many were reporting.

“Being the Queen is not all about singing, and being a diva is not all about singing. It has much to do with your service to people. And your social contributions to your community and your civic contributions as well.”
Aretha Franklin, a.k.a. the Queen of Soul, has died today, according to her publicist (via The Associated Press). The cause of death has not been revealed. She was 76.
Her death comes after years of undisclosed medical issues, which had led to long lapses of silence from the public and many show cancellations.

The back wood spot, sort like a tarp shack, but it’s just the siding. A ritual rune awaits, aglow. Puddles of thick liquid dripping and the sound of something being sharpened in harmonious noises. It’s by a pond and green-hued light is coming from the inside out flaps of tarp silhouetting steam rising off the dark puddles gaining ground. Indistinct, mossy dangling and lose limbs off trees. Cadu Tenório’s grin glaring through pitch black.

It’s common nowadays to think about the modern media landscape as a Ballardian horror. Hypermediated existence wears down our neural connections, tires out our cognition, brutally reworks our conception of embodiment, and forcefully disallows us to reach an honest, actual connection to what we consume and what surrounds us. Images, sounds, and videos constantly shift in front of our eyes — cut, cut, cut, cut, cut (…) — until it all merges together into the slime that is the object of our consumption.
