Chicago based synth-maestro and founder of Catholic Tapes Brett Naucke is teaming up with Spectrum Spools for the first time to release a full-length LP. The label explains that the album entitled Seed was created by the artist “using ritual variations on a singular patch for modular synthesizer.” Naucke is able to overcome the restraints of the fixed underlying texture, and constructs a record that is vibrant, pointed and anything but monotonous.
Seed as a whole is set to be released on April 14, but lucky for us the label has recently let out a track from the record to get us licking our lips at the tantalizing impending release. “Luau” is a juicy dripping single where jittery rhythms skitter across a warm gliding drone, and curious ghostly voices beg the listener to cut deeper and deeper into the unfamiliar yet intriguing textures and flavors off the barbecue of Brett Naucke. Taste a slice below and tuck your napkin in your shirt collar for April 14.
