Why is it that tracks with dusty, lithe piano loops always seem to pair so well alongside crispy compressed drums? Suppose it’s in the same realm as why ripe mangoes always taste so heavenly?
Anyway, John Dope picked up some mangoes from the market, washed and cut ‘em up, and presented ‘em for us as “Raw”.
Wait… that’s not right.
Ah, yes! What I meant to say is he flipped some Bill Evans-esque ivories with some thick drums and presented them for us as “Raw”. Oh, and he added some Guru at the 1:30 mark to garnish the beat with a little bit of class. How thoughtful!
